Celebrando Luminarias de Oncología

En los 50 años desde que se inició ASCO, el tratamiento del cáncer ha avanzado dramáticamente gracias al trabajo de investigadores, a médicos responsables de entregar dichos avances a los pacientes e incontables otros que contribuyeron al mejoramiento del cuidado del cáncer.

Destacadas Luminarias de la Oncología han sido identificadas por varios líderes voluntarios de la American Society of Clinical Oncology. La lista de luminarias no es exhaustiva, y los líderes de ASCO reconocen que hay muchas más personas a través de la historia que han dado forma al campo de la oncología y el progreso  contra el cáncer.  Deseamos que todos puedan unirse con nosotros para celebrar los logros de todos estos individuos excepcionales, y los miles de otros que continúan trabajando cada día para avanzar en el campo.

Celebrating Oncology Luminaries

In the 50 years since ASCO was first started, the treatment of cancer has advanced dramatically thanks to the work of researchers behind important breakthroughs, physicians responsible for delivering those advances to patients, and countless others who contributed to the improvement of cancer care.

Featured Oncology Luminaries were identified by several volunteer leaders of the American Society of Clinical Oncology. The list of luminaries is not exhaustive, and the leaders of ASCO recognize that there are many more people throughout history who have shaped the field of oncology and advanced progress against cancer.  We hope that everyone can join with us in celebrating the accomplishments of all of these exceptional individuals, and the thousands of others who continue to work each day to advance the field.

First International Symposium of ecancer on Breast Cancer
March 6-7, 2015 – Lima, Perú

The Symposium will concentrate on the recent progress in breast cancer, from a perspective which covers New Molecular Diagnosis Techniques, prevention methods and epidemiology in Latin America.

The objective is to carry out the most extensive conference on Breast Cancer in the Region.

10° Simposio Internacional en Cáncer de Ovario Avanzado
Marzo 6, 2015 – Valencia, España

El Simposio Internacional en Cáncer de Ovario Avanzado: Actualización de Terapia Optima fue fundado por el Dr. Andrés Poveda y el Prof. Jan B. Vermorken y cada edición ha sido dirigida por ellos.

El 1° de Marzo 2013 se realize su novena edición. Este simposio es organizado cada dos años por GEICO (Grupo Español de Investigación de Cáncer de Ovario, Spanish Ovarian Research Group), y, desde 2009, junto con ESMO (European Society for Medical Oncology). Su próxima edición tendrá lugar en Marzo 6, 2015.

10th International Symposium on Advanced Ovarian Cancer
March 6, 2015 – Valencia, Spain

The International Symposium on Advanced Ovarian Cancer: Optimal Therapy. Update was founded by Dr. Andrés Poveda and Prof. Jan B. Vermorken and each edition has been directed by them.

On 1st March 2013 its ninth edition was held. This symposium is organized every other year by GEICO (Grupo Español de Investigación de Cáncer de Ovario, Spanish Ovarian Research Group), and, since 2009, together with ESMO (European Society for Medical Oncology). Its next edition will be held on 6th March 2015.

The meeting is held under the auspices of the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology (SEOM), the Gynecologic Cancer InterGroup (GCIG), and the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), Educational Committee for its Medical Oncology Recertification Approval (ESMO/MORA) Program.

Hablarán sobre política pública, accesos a medicamentos de alto costo, farmacoeconomía, farmacoviglancia y cuidados paliativos. Latin-American Masterclass in Clinical Oncology - ESO - LATIN-AMERICAN PROGRAMME

As you remember, attendance to the Masterclass is by competitive application, and the application deadline is 9 February.

The Masterclass programme is designed to specifically meet the educational needs of the following candidates:

• Age between 30 and 40 years

• Involvement in scientific activities (desirable)
• At least an intermediate level of English language (simple scientific discussion in English)

6th Interamerican Oncology Conference
October 8-9, 2015 – Buenos Aires, Argentina

You are being invited to attend the 6th conference “Current Status and Future of Anti-Cancer Targeted Therapies” that will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
