QS Investigación e Innovación, conjuntamente con la Universidad Europea de Madrid, organizan esta convocatoria que permitirá al beneficiario realizar una formación específica en Diagnóstico por la imagen en el área de mama con especial énfasis en resonancia de mama y procedimientos intervencionistas en mama guiados por RM, mamografía (tomosíntesis) y ecografía, además de metodología de investigación en este centro universitario.
Las prácticas clínicas se llevarán a cabo en el Hospital Universitario Quirónsalud Madrid.

This call starts again. It is addressed to Latin American radiologists with residence completed within the last 5 years belonging to national radiological societies.
QS Research and Innovation, together with the European University of Madrid, organize this call that will allow the beneficiary to carry out a specific training in Diagnostic Imaging in the breast area with special emphasis on breast resonance and interventional breast procedures guided by MRI, mammography (tomosynthesis) and ultrasound, in addition to research methodology in this university center.
Clinical practices will be carried out at the Quirónsalud University Hospital Madrid.

DÍA MUNDIAL DE LA INVESTIGACIÓN EN CÁNCER
Uno de los retos prioritarios en la lucha contra el cáncer es seguir potenciando y reforzando la investigación oncológica como factor esencial para frenar la progresión de la enfermedad y seguir mejorando los índices de supervivencia y la calidad de vida de las personas afectadas. Las proyecciones indican que el cáncer será la primera causa de muerte en los próximos años con un aumento anual de su incidencia de 21,6 millones de casos nuevos a 2030, según estimaciones de la IARC.
El objetivo final de esta iniciativa es concienciar a la sociedad para que impulse y otorgue reconocimiento al esfuerzo investigador en cáncer, así como ayudar a mantener el compromiso social y de las instituciones por la investigación oncológica.
Este día nos dará a todos la oportunidad de lograr concienciación y compromiso para llevar a cabo acciones coordinadas y que cubran todos los ámbitos necesarios para el avance de la investigación en cáncer.

WORLD CANCER RESEARCH DAY
One of the main challenges in the fight against cancer is further developing and boosting cancer research as an essential part of slowing the progression of the disease and further improving survival rates and quality of life for those affected. Estimates show that cancer will be the leading cause of death in the coming years with an increase to 21.6 million new cases each year by 2030 according to estimates from the IARC.
The main goal of this initiative is to raise society´s awareness so that it pushes it forward and gives recognition to cancer research efforts. On the other hand we aim to help keep societal and institutional commitment to cancer research alive.
This historical day will give us the opportunity to increase awareness and further commit to carrying out coordinated actions as widely as necessary in order to push cancer research forward.

En el segundo número de Cancer Biology & Medicine, un editorial invitado por el Prof. Xiubao Ren comenta la investigación de vanguardia sobre el supresor inmunitario Siglec-15 y presenta sus perspectivas y perspectivas profundas. Apoyado por un gran estudio de base poblacional, la profesora Martha L. Slattery et al. Compuso una revisión que analiza el papel funcional de los miRNAs y el cáncer colorrectal. Cancer Biology & Medicine - Publication of the 2nd issue in 2019
In the 2nd issue of Cancer Biology & Medicine, an invited editorial by Prof. Xiubao Ren comments the breakthrough research on immune suppressor Siglec-15 and presents his deep perspective and insights. Supported by a large population-based study, Prof. Martha L. Slattery et al. composed a review which discusses the functional role of miRNAs and colorectal cancer. Clinical studies in this issue involve the role of telmisartan in melanoma, effects of palbociclib in treatment of oral squamous cell carcinoma, and survival outcomes of NSCLC patients initiated on afatinib, etc. Meanwhile, some featured basic researches, such as HBx in hepatocarcinogenesis, are also included.

WORKSHOP DEL NODO ARGENTINO DEL HUMAN VARIOME PROJECT 2019
Noviembre 22-24, 2019 – Buenos Aires, Argentina
El Human Variome Project es una ONG internacional que mantiene relaciones operativas con la Organización para la Educación, la Ciencia y la Cultura de las Naciones Unidas (UNESCO) y trabaja para garantizar que toda la información de variantes genéticas y su efecto sobre la salud humana pueda recogerse, curada, interpretada y compartida libre y abiertamente.
El Nodo Argentino del Human Variome Project es un servicio nacional para compartir datos de variantes genéticas humanas con el objetivo de mejorar la atención clínica de los pacientes y apoyar la investigación médica.
El nodo consiste en un repositorio digital y seguro más una colección de distintas herramientas aplicadas para el uso de esta súper base de datos. Este nodo es la contribución argentina unida a otros esfuerzos internacionales de colección global de datos.
El nodo local comenzó su actividad en 2016 y recibió la confirmación final el 7 de noviembre de 2016 tras haber recibido la autorización del Human Variome Project International Confederation of Countries Advisory Council (ICCAC) y con el apoyo del Ministerio de Salud de la Nación. Desde la presentación en la reunión de la UNESCO 2016, recibimos el apoyo de la Asociación Médica Argentina, con el estímulo del Presidente Miguel Galmés.

WORKSHOP OF THE ARGENTINE NODE OF THE HUMAN VARIOME PROJECT 2019

The Human Variome Project is an international NGO that maintains operational relations with the Organization for Education, Science and Culture of the United Nations (UNESCO) and works to ensure that all information on genetic variants and their effect on human health can be collected, cured, interpreted and shared freely and openly.
The Argentine Node of the Human Variome Project is a national service to share data of human genetic variants with the aim of improving the clinical care of patients and supporting medical research.
The node consists of a secure digital repository plus a collection of different tools applied to the use of this super database. This node is the Argentine contribution together with other international efforts of global data collection.
The local node started its activity in 2016 and received the final confirmation on November 7, 2016 after receiving authorization from the Human Variome Project International Confederation of Countries Advisory Council (ICCAC) and with the support of the Ministry of Health of the Nation. Since the presentation at the UNESCO 2016 meeting, we received the support of the Argentine Medical Association, with the encouragement of President Miguel Galmés.
They initially support the initiatives of the Argentine Node to improve the quality of the database to share genetic variants, both locally and internationally, these scientific societies:

"El Camino a Seguir" es el tema del Congreso Mundial sobre el Cáncer de 2020, destacando, muy importante, la necesidad de que nuestra región trabaje hacia un futuro libre de cáncer. Las oportunidades de redes y las sesiones informativas guiarán e inspirarán la agenda de control del cáncer de la región, hasta el próximo Congreso y más allá.
La UICC cree en una respuesta integral al control mundial del cáncer, apoyando a sus miembros y a la comunidad del cáncer para que trabajen juntos para lograr un impacto positivo en los pacientes, sobrevivientes, proveedores de atención médica y otros voluntarios y cuidadores que manejan la carga diaria de esta enfermedad.
